Org Concepts
13th Apr, 2011

I have been messing about with the Org concepts some more. I came up with one I liked in a doodle while on the telephone. Funny how inspiration strikes when you are not really trying! I scanned the scrap of paper into Photoshop and worked it up. The Orgs are the Sciror version of Orcs, but I wanted them to be even meaner looking (if that's possible), a mix between 40K's Orks, rage zombies (from 28 days), and a dash of crocodile. Notable differences are the lack of lips (I may play up the shark teeth angle a bit more in later versions), the skeletal nose, and rounded ears.

Hearing feedback is very important to me in developing my ideas. Much of my designs are inspired, and crafted, by chatting to fans on forums before snowballing into a full concept you'll find here. I would like to thank all those who have contributed critiques and participated in discussions over the years, and I would especially like to thank all those who commented on this specific topic. If you would like join in, you are most welcome!

I guess this one is going to need an update article. The idea of a basic game box involving some Legionaries versus Orgs could be awesome!

I love it.  There's a feral intelligence coming out that is absolutely awesome.

But I didn't say that.  We never agree on anything, after all. 😀

We agree on lots of things, but less so on our justifications when it comes to 40K 🙂 I'm glad you like the concept. There may be a sculpted version of this Org at some point in the future by Ed (Troll Forged Miniatures), and perhaps a few other sculptors from the collective may have a crack. I think some of the SSG (Stream Stun Gun) have been sent off for casting. As I delve into Sciror, specifically 'Psidemic' and 'Star into the Abyss' scenarios, I will be throwing more concepts at the fine folks over on the TFM forum.

LOL.  Fair enough.  Randomly, and for the first time when it comes to orks, I actually began to think about the possibilities of the nose as a method of communication.  Sure, strange I know, but that's the first time that I've ever been inspired to think about something like that when it comes to the 40k orks.  Kudos. 😀

          The nose? Like dogs?

          Thanks for the Kudos 🙂

Yeah, basically.  Just a visual clue, nothing more, but as I said it is the first time that I've found anything to do with the orks to be mildly intriguing.
